Mr. McKenna represents "the good guys" in all areas of personal injury law, including medical malpractice, product liability, construction negligence, and automobile negligence cases. He also handles civil rights and employment discrimination actions. In addition to his trial experience in the Illinois state courts and the United States District Court, he has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Before going to law school, Mr. McKenna served a two-year internship at the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, one of the largest and most respected law firms in the nation. During this internship, Mr. McKenna assisted top litigation attorneys in cases involving patent infringement, insurance coverage, and nuclear power issues.  This experience has been invaluable to him in assisting to assist clients victimized by corporations, insurance companies, hospitals, and physicians.

Together with Mr. Hurley, Mr. McKenna has worked on a number of cases resulting in jury verdicts and settlements for injured persons. Mr. McKenna and Mr. Hurley obtained a $985,000.00 jury verdict in favor of a DuPage County girl whose right arm was injured at birth by an obstetrician. They obtained a $800,000.00 verdict in favor of a Chicago boy similarly injured at birth. In 1996, Mr. McKenna and Mr. Hurley teamed up to represent a 42 year-old man wrongfully terminated by his employer. They obtained a verdict of $712,000.00 in that case and then successfully persuaded the United States Court of Appeals to affirm the verdict.

Mr. McKenna was born and raised in Chicago. His father, a union boilermaker, died in 1980 from cancer related to on-the-job exposure to asbestos. His great-grandfather was a founder of the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers in Chicago.

Mr. McKenna is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.
