Michael S. Keating has been an associate at Hurley, McKenna & Mertz since 2004. Mr. Keating represents the firm's clients in personal injury and wrongful death litigation in state and federal courts. He is licensed to practice before the Illinois Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Before joining Hurley, McKenna & Mertz, Mr. Keating was Assistant Counsel to Illinois Speaker of the House Michael J. Madigan during the 93rd General Assembly. While working in the state capitol, Mr. Keating was assigned to the committees on State Government Administration and Judiciary I - Civil Law. During law school at the DePaul University College of Law, he was a member of the Dean's List and clerked at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General.
Mr. Keating, a lifelong Illinois resident, received a B.S. in Business Administration from Marquette University in 1997 and a J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law in 2002. In 2004 Mr. Keating was elected as a delegate to represent Illinois' 7th Congressional District at the Democratic National Convention. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.
