Traumatic Brain Injury

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can occur when a person's head suddenly stops, causing the brain to be thrown forward into the skull's interior. This type of injury is common in car accidents because the head may suddenly decelerate by being thrown into the windshield, dashboard or airbag.

Proving TBIs can be complex. In the most extreme cases, victims suffer obvious and immediate symptoms; however, the symptom may not be as obvious in many other instances. For example, after the injury patients may only later experience symptoms such as dizziness, irregular breathing, poor balance, lessened endurance and lack of coordination.

If you suspect that a traumatic brain injury has occurred, it is extremely important to act quickly in order to preserve all possible evidence. By speaking with an attorney and preserving evidence, you make your chance of winning a lawsuit and obtaining justice that much better.
