In medical malpractice, product liability, vehicle collisions, and other negligence cases, HM&M has won record-breaking verdicts and settlements totaling over $500 million, and our work has resulted in important legal reforms to benefit real people.

“…he wanted to use his talents…to help people on the other side—those without the power of big corporations…”

Our History & Mission

Before starting our firm, Chris Hurley practiced law at Baker & McKenzie, the largest law firm in the country. While there he worked with many well-respected lawyers and represented major hospitals, corporations, and insurance companies. Chris realized, however, that he wanted to use his talents as a trial lawyer to help people on the other side—those without the power of big corporations—who have been wrongfully injured. So in 1992 he founded his own personal injury firm, now known as Hurley McKenna & Mertz, P.C.

Today HM&M is a leading personal injury firm, known and trusted by clients and referring lawyers alike.

The lawyers and staff at HM&M have been working together as a team for many years. We trust and respect one another and all of our clients are treated the same way. We want you to be honest with us and we pledge the same to you. We don’t promise to tell you only what you want to hear, but we do promise to always tell you the truth.
