Bicyclist Killed in Tragic Accident

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a semi truck today on the Near North Side of Chicago. According to police, the bicyclist was traveling in the southbound lane when he swerved suddenly to avoid an open car door and fell underneath the front wheels of the truck's trailer.

This tragic accident highlights the importance of being observant of bicyclists, especially on the busy streets of Chicago, as they are very vulnerable and rely on others for their safety. As a car accident attorney, I have seen the devastating results of car accidents involving bicyclists. Bicyclists simply have no effective way of protecting themselves when they are in the path of a car. Therefore, I ask all Chicago motorists to use extreme caution when around bikers so that tragic accidents like this one can be avoided in the future.
